Courtroom Vigil, By The Given Heart

I’m sitting in the courtroom, awaiting,

Hoping my neighbor’s burglar gets what’s waiting.

But no second thoughts from me, not even third ones,

Cause the first ones don’t exist, under the sun’s bright runs.

Justice should be blind, they always say,

But sometimes it feels like it’s led astray.

Still, I hold onto hope, though it’s thin,

That fairness will prevail, and truth will win.

Innocent until proven guilty, they declare,

Yet doubts can linger, filling the air.

But let’s trust in the system, flawed though it may be,

That justice will serve, and the truth we’ll see.

So here I sit, in this courtroom’s domain,

Hoping for justice, free from stain.

For in a world where fairness is rare,

We’ll cling to hope, and fight with care.
